Digital Design Specialist Location Baltimore, MD : Department: University Communications and Marketing The Marketing Department at UMBC carries out functions related to strategic enrollment marketing, brand awareness, digital strategy, and creative services. UMBC Marketing works in partnership with undergraduate and graduate admissions as well as departments across campus to promote the UMBC experience and attract students. Position Overview: The Digital Design Specialist will take an active role in developing digital communications for the university. Specific duties include performing hands-on print and production work, interactive design, developing and delivering projects in a timely manner, communicating efficiently with clients, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities: The Digital Design Specialist works closely with design, marketing, and communications team members to develop and deliver on-time communications. In addition, they maintain the University style in their work and have the ability to take elements from existing designs and use them as needed for individual projects.
Specific duties include performing hands-on print, web, digital, and production design from concept development to production and/or launch; participating in design efforts on UMBC Magazine; developing and delivering projects in a timely manner; and performing other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Web Design, Visual Arts, or a related area Two years of related professional experience, preferably in design, development, or production of interactive marketing communications Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Google Suite, and MS Office is required Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree or MFA Three or more years of related professional experience, preferably in design, development, or production of interactive marketing communications Web design certifications, coding certifications, e.g., HTML, PHP, CSS, etc. Special Instructions to Applicants: Upload a cover letter and a resume.
