Summary of Job Duties:
The Digital Content Strategist crafts content and develops strategies to communicate and promote services and organizational/operational changes for departments and leadership teams within the Division of Finance and Administration.

This position is responsible for developing and implementing content strategies and evaluating and enhancing efforts to increase engagement and usability for digital platforms, including social media accounts, divisional websites, print materials, and other mass communications channels as needed.

The Strategist role is part of the division's Digital Strategy Team, which supports the Administrative Communications team within University Relations. The Strategist works closely with the Director of Digital Strategy and Digital Media Specialist to plan, design, craft, and implement content strategies that support the university and division's communications goals, while working to align efforts with institutional goals and strategic planning. Additionally, this position is responsible for proactively coordinating with division communicators and project teams to ensure key messaging is consistently represented across digital communications channels. Other duties as assigned.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English or related field
At least two years of experience in writing, editing, marketing and/or a related field
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with digital content strategies and communications planning objectives
Experience with content management system, especially Modern Campus (formerly OmniCMS) and/or email management systems like MailChimp
Experience in a higher education setting
Experience running social media accounts for brands and/or leaders
Familiarity with HTML & CSS
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive)
Experience meeting institutional brand standards, including internal style guides
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of industry best practices including SEO, accessibility, responsive design, social media trends, and user experience
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Attention to detail
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with peers, leaders, and subject matter experts to complete assigned tasks
Ability to manage social media accounts working toward continual improvement by tracking KPIs and recommending improvements
Ability to explain complex topics in understandable terms for a broad audience
Ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, exercise good judgment in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to deliver and receive constructive feedback in a professional and positive manner

Additional Information:

Salary Information:

$45,000-$56,000 - commensurate with education and experience
