Responsibilities: The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled tasks including all levels of field maintenance, troubleshooting, direct repairs, overhauls and scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment involved in plugging operations.
Ensure proper functioning of trucks, trailers, service rigs, and construction equipment via conducting routine maintenance and diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks. Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues. Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs, assess performance, and address any safety concerns. Repair or replace faulty components such as brakes, transmissions, and fuel systems. Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment history. Order and stock maintenance and repair parts as needed. Adhere to all company safety practices, policies, and procedures when working on equipment. Comply with company policies and environmental and regulatory standards related to diesel engine maintenance and repairs. Ensure equipment is operating under current DOT and other state regulations. Handle emergency callouts as needed. Ensure active and open communication with field operations. Perform any other duties as requested or assigned, including occasionally assisting with non-plugging or special projects per direction of management. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with good driving record. Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of plugging rigs and heavy equipment, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field. Strong technical knowledge of various plugging rig systems, heavy machinery, and mechanical/electrical systems. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols associated with plugging rigs and heavy equipment. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Willingness to travel to visit work sites; occasionally requires extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors. Ability to work overtime and holidays as needed. Ability to be flexible with the shift schedule. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
Wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, FR clothing, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done. Walking, stepping, climbing, or otherwise moving from one location on the job site to another. Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses). Standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, climbing, and sitting. Repetitive movements by feet, shoulders, arms wrists, hands and back in performance of work. Lifting 50lb objects or more occasionally. Adapting to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to sometimes adverse weather conditions.
