Position Summary: The basic function of the Diesel Mechanic is to trouble-shoot, clean, inspect, and maintain heavy and support equipment at the transfer station and material-recovery facilities in a safe and professional manner.
Your Role: Troubleshooting heavy equipment. Welding Maintain and repair various types of heavy equipment, diesel motors, and hydraulic systems. Work all assigned shifts from scheduled start time to scheduled end time. Take an active role in the improvement of safety and health in the workplace. Participate in all required Company meetings, including weekly safety meetings. Other duties as assigned. Your Skills: Ability to use a variety of vehicle tools such as hand tools, electric tools, pneumatic tools, jacking equipment, safety stands, electronic testing equipment. Ability to receive, understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to read and understand parts and service manuals. Ability to prepare legible and understandable work order and schedule completion sheets. Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions. Lifting moderate to heavy material is required. Requirements : High School Diploma or GED Driver's License Must supply own tool.
