DescriptionPosition at Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. Maintenance Technician-Die Tooling-3rd Shift (11pm-7:30am) Basic Purpose: Support progressive metal stamping die PM's, and die performance while communicating to other support areas; such as but not limited to QA, Engineering, and Manufacturing.
Position Requirements 2-year degree in Machine Tool Technology and 1-3 years on the job experience with stamping dies where the following skills have been demonstrated (self-motivation, good initiative; perform pushing and pulling up to 175 lbs., tugging, lifting & carrying up to 75 lbs.; posses fine motor skills for handling delicate components; work with hands; perform visual inspection; verbal/written communication on a regular basis); must have a positive attitude; be willing to learn & work at a fast pace.
Basic Position Duties Troubleshoot and debug progressive dies including machine operation. Check production die condition and terminal quality while supporting production.
Die Disassembly and assembly following applicable work instruction and blueprints.
Perform overhauls (die preventive maintenance) per training guidelines.
Parts fitting; shape die components according to training guidelines and understand parts mating sections and functions.
Able to measure dimensions using the appropriate measuring device.
Wrap-up work (complete related documentation and checks per training guidelines).
Maintain good moral related to training and guidance; be proactive in relation to job duties and co-workers.
Utilize grinding equipment and hand tools within training and experience level.
Document and communicate on a daily basis with members of other departments (i.e. QA, MFG, ENG.)
Perform other duties as assigned
