Job Description UM Charles Regional Medical Center
RN Diabetes Educator - Full-Time
La Plata, MD 
Under general supervision, plans, implements and evaluates diabetes education programs both for individuals and groups under the supervision of the Director, UM Charles Regional Medical Center. Demonstrated knowledge diabetes self-management education and counseling techniques Ability to develop, market and instruct diabetes education Ability to assess all diabetes programs and services according to objectives The ability to ensure the confidentiality and rights of all client/patient, health system and departmental documents is required. Qualifications Must have a current licensure as a Registered Dietitian or Registered Nurse (preferred).  Current certification by the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators (CDCES) preferred. Must be able to obtain within 18 months if not currently certified.  A minimum of two years' experience with care of persons with diabetes and diabetes-related illnesses. Additional Information Work Schedule: Monday - Friday mostly dayshift with one evening shift monthly on Tuesdays All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
