Development Events Planner Location Kissimmee, FL : SUMMARY OF OVERALL PURPOSE The Development Events Planner provides support for all internal and external fundraising and special events, by way of assisting with pre-planning, guest lists, fundraising, staffing vendor relations, and execution of events. Additionally, this position is responsible for select Development events that will require meeting with clients to discuss needs, maintaining partnerships with vendors and caterers, overseeing set up, execution and cleanup of events. This role requires organization and management experience to help create meaningful events for the Village.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Fundraising Event Support Assist with and manage all logistical planning and execution of events. Serve as liaison and event support for internal events. Support logistical and strategic aspects for fundraising events as directed. Manage vendor relations, contracting, and purchasing as needed for events. Manage some 3rd party fundraisers. Manage guest lists and attendee outreach for events. Coordinate dessert parties and small onsite events. Attends and monitors activities to ensure client satisfaction. Responsible for reviewing billing, purchasing for payment approval. Fundraising and Donor Relations Research on potential donors, partners and fundraising opportunities. Assist with booking onsite and offsite volunteer groups of partners. Coach and support team fundraisers in their effort to exceed their financial goals. Coordinate and provide tours to prospective partners. Develop and maintain relationships with external constituents (donors; corporate partners; organizations; etc.) to garner strong support for the Village. Maintain and update Salesforce records. PHYSICAL DEMANDS OUTSIDE NORMAL WORK ENVIRONMENT Ability to travel locally and nationally. Some overnight travel necessary. Ability to lift and transfer 25 lbs. Ability to work in all weather conditions. Willing to work many weekends and non-traditional hours. SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. Strong attention to detail Clear concise verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade others. Excellent written communication skills Collaborative team player that establishes effective working relationships by adjusting approaches to meet the needs of a diverse audience. Knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques Ability to maintain calm and composed in times of pressure. A strong sense of urgency, self-motivation, and commitment to get the job done quickly and with high quality. Steadfastly pushes self and others for results. Computer literate with proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, Salesforce with the ability to learn new computer programs. Ability to operate a motorized vehicle, including battery-operated golf cart. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Must meet acceptable attendance and punctuality requirements, which are essential functions for the position. Bachelor's Degree in related field. 3+ years of event experience in a non-profit environment 1 year of event coordination experience. Experience with SalesForce is a plus. Certified Meeting Professional credential highly desired.
