Description: This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Development Engineer position for the School of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University ( OSU ).
The purpose of this position is to support research within the area of cement and concrete science, including thermodynamic and kinetic measurements, characterization and performance testing. This position will manage laboratories and equipment in the cement and concrete materials research group. and provide safety training for students on equipment and required procedures. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): One year of experience designing, fabricating, testing, modifying, and maintaining new, experimental electronic equipment, instruments, and systems in an instrument laboratory; OR a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent field.
Requirements : Experience in a technical industry or national laboratory. Experience developing technical and safety procedures. Excellent scheduling and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of audiences. Demonstrated ability to work effectively on an individual basis and as a member of a team. Demonstrated ability to plan, implement, evaluate, and make critical judgments. Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
Type: This position requires the ability to work/move effectively in a laboratory environment, including the ability to lift up to 20 pounds to physically place samples in equipment.
