We have a need for a Designer 3 to support our Mission Technologies Division, which has over 100 facilities worldwide and provides capabilities to support an all-domain force that includes artificial intelligence and machine learning, autonomous systems, critical nuclear operations, LVC systems, cyberspace strategies, and platform modernization.
Essential Job Responsibilities Design major components or major portions of functional system to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Develop basic data and create preliminary layouts, sketches, and notes necessary to present design proposal. Investigate design factors such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials and equipment, interchangeability, replaceability, strength-weight efficiency, and contractual specification requirements and cost. Create layouts of complex assemblies and details parts of devices, mechanisms, and structures. Review completed layouts and drawings for clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning. Identify design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommends revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible engineers or designers. Minimum Qualifications AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience. HS + 3 years related experience may be substituted for AA degree.
