Full job description Imagine a future where you're helping to secure and implement the permits for our proposed offshore wind project on the US East Coast
Join us in this role where you'll play a key role in delivering our offshore wind projects on the East Coast of the United States. You'll be a dedicated permitting resource to the Skipjack offshore wind farm, help support the Head of Mid-Atlantic and P2X Permitting, and lead on the day-to-day tasks required to help secure and implement permits from federal, state, and local agencies. This role is a step up into a leadership role for environmental and permitting professional who already have demonstrated experience in advancing complex projects through the permitting process.

You'll be part of North America Permitting, Environment, and Marine Affairs (PEMA) team where you, together with your colleagues, will lead a complex permit work package from initiation through to implementation and undertake complimentary actions to support the day-to-day management of the Skipjack permitting work package. You'll take a leadership role in the management of the project permitting and environmental specialists, the management of specialist consultants, and engagement with the wider project team and external government agencies and interest groups. As a team, we work collaboratively with our colleagues across the project incl. engineering, real estate, external affairs, and others to support the permitting and development of our offshore wind projects. You'll play an important role in: securing permits from regulatory entities at federal, state, and local level to facilitate the construction, operation and decommissioning of the proposed asset project through advancing the project through National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and working toward securing approval of a Construction and Operations Plan through the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) being integral to the projects permitting schedule as it informs the delivery of the wider asset project and its associated interconnections with other packages identifying and offering solutions and strategies to the projects leadership team to avoid or minimize risks within the projects permitting scope of work creating and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders, agency personnel, and other key external stakeholders and interest groups supporting the management of permitting budgets and third-party sub consultant contracts, playing a central role in alleviating project management workload tasks from the Regional Head of Permitting. To succeed in the role, you: hold at least a bachelor's degree within a relevant field, e.g., urban planning, permitting, environmental policy, compliance, marine biology, marine affairs, or other disciplines related to permitting, development, and construction possess in-depth knowledge of US regulations and policies as well as a solid understanding of the concerns of key decision-makers, policymakers, and federal or state authorities have experience in securing permits for complex projects and experience in understanding and foreshadowing permitting risks have related work experience, e.g., from the wind industry, large scale infrastructure projects, development compliance, promotion of urban development, or through working for development or environmental consultancies, federal or state agencies, etc. thrive in a global work environment, working both independently and collaboratively with your colleagues in the US and Europe have excellent technical writing skills and stakeholder management abilities and are a trustworthy and impactful communicator.
