Responsibilities
• Assist with development and implementation of division goals and objectives• Supervise, train, and evaluate divisional staff• Coordinate and participate in plan check functions and counter operations• Review and make recommendations on applicable codes and regulations• Supervise computerized building permit processing system• Prepare reports and memos regarding division operations• Check details of building plans for compliance with zoning codes and laws• Appear before public agencies and provide technical assistance• Serve as Chief Building Official as required• Perform other related duties as needed
Requirements
• Six years of building inspection and construction experience• Bachelor's degree in construction-related or management-related field• Valid California Class C Driver License• Certification from recognized association related to job functions• Minimum of 45 hours of continuing education every three years
