Summary: The Deposit Operations Officer is responsible for the overall management of the operations department. This includes overseeing the daily operations of the department, developing and implementing new processes to improve efficiency and accuracy, and managing a team of employees. Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Applies feedback to improve performance; Monitors own work to ensure quality. The Deposit Operations Officer must have a strong understanding of banking regulations and procedures and experience managing a team.
Job Functions: Supervise, coach, and train Operations staff. Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations. Oversee wire transfer and ACH operations. Manage staff that handles exception processing for checks, ACH, adjustments, and debit card disputes. Manage Online banking and Treasury Management services. Manage Retail and Business On-Line Banking Set-Up, Administration and Customer Support Directs team in supporting the implementation of changes related to Treasury Services and other projects, including, but not limited to, positive pay, wires, ACH, and remote deposit. Manage customer installations and support for Treasury Services. Research information to properly document and respond to levies, garnishments, and subpoenas. Review mobile and remote deposits and ACH files for processing. Coordinate customer maintenance and updates to the core banking system. Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank. Administer Debit Card Program. Project Management for special projects and initiatives. Oversee processing and managing of garnishments, subpoenas, and escheatments. Coordinate with other departments to meet established goals and deadlines. Develops and implements procedures for effectively handling transactions; ensures that operating procedures are in place and staff adheres to procedures; and enhances current procedures to improve productivity. Ensures new employees are thoroughly trained, emphasizing productivity, quality, motivation, and culture. Identifies and implements system processing improvements; reviews and recommends new methods and procedures to make daily operations more efficient. Must complete all required training, including Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering training, suitable to their position within the bank. Performs other duties as assigned. SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains thorough knowledge of the current banking industry and trends. Consult with other managers/staff to develop effective ways to meet customers' needs, the appropriate method to use to resolve an error, and to initiate and implement process changes. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree or higher in a related field or 5-7 years related experience preferred. Three plus years of Bank Operations Management preferred. Must be a detail-oriented professional. Excellent written and oral communication skills Basic competence in subordinates' duties and tasks Ability to work with all levels of management. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills Ability to manage priorities and workflow. Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with professionalism. Proven leadership and business acumen skills Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Strong people skills. Ability to deal effectively with diverse individuals at all organizational levels. Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
