**Job Description**

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated **Structural Engineering Department Manager** to join our Transportation Business Line in our Providence, RI office. This position will oversee bridge and other transportation structural design technical work, monitor staffing and provide business development assistance. Experience with RIDOT, the RITBA and other transportation agencies is highly desired. The ideal candidate will perform the following:

+ Oversee hiring, monitor staffing and conduct performance evaluations;

+ Lead the staff by offering technical guidance;

+ Mentor staff to facilitate career development;

+ Manage multiple bridge design projects from inception to completion, ranging in contract value and complexity.

+ Advise project teams on technical issues, perform deliverable quality reviews, report on project status, and deliver design on schedule and within budget;

+ Coordinate design elements with other task leaders and/or group managers;

+ Lead, monitor and review design deliverables such as calculations, reports, models, construction cost estimates, construction drawings and specifications;

+ Develop scopes of work and price proposals;

+ Verify software usage for efficient design and coordination;

+ Participate in project negotiations with clients.

+ Develop and maintain strong client relationships through performance, service and effective communication.

+ Manage complex technical work independently while mentoring and guiding less experienced team members.

+ Participate in bridge group leadership and effectively communicate workload requirements to Bridge Manager and manage resources on projects

+ Enhance client relationships.

**Qualifications**

Minimum Qualifications:

+ BS Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field plus 10 years of related experience overseeing bridge and other transportation structural design technical work or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

+ Professional Engineering license

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Project management experience

+ Knowledge of AASHTO requirements

+ MS Degree with concentration in Structural Engineering

+ Familiar with RIDOT projects

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $190,000.00.
