Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Job Summary: The person in this position assists the dentist with 4-handed dentistry during adult and pediatric procedures, including restorative, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery and implant procedures.
Prepares tray setups for commonly performed procedures. Obtains radiographs as instructed by dentist. Inserts and finishes temporary, composite and amalgam restorations, with minimal adjustment required by the dentist.
Places sealants. Takes opposing impressions, packs cord and fabricates temporary for crown and bridge procedures.
Pours and trims diagnostic models. Constructs custom acrylic trays. Fabricates temporary crowns. Prepares case for delivery to lab; ensures quality impression, bite registration, shade, lab slip complete, before sending to lab. Prepares, cleans and sterilizes instruments and supplies according to proper procedure. This position is for the General Practice at the Turfland Oral Health Clinic ; however, the successful candidate may be asked to provide occasional backup and fill in coverage as a Dental Assistant and/or Dental Therapist at all levels in various dental clinics and locations both on and off campus. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Communication, expanded duties training, attention to detail, customer service, communication, good judgment, meticulous hygiene.

Preferred Education/Experience: Expanded duty dental assisting experience, expanded duty certification, and experience taking digital radiographs preferred.
