The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing dental hygiene services to clients while ensuring the highest standards of quality and professionalism. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in providing dental hygiene services for individuals with intellectual disabilities. Physically located in The State of Arkansas. Responsibilities: Perform oral cleanings on patients by removing all traces of calculus, deposits and accretions, and stains from teeth with hand mechanized instruments on clients. Conduct instrumental examination and charts conditions of teeth and surrounding tissues for carious lesions, periodontal pockets, and other abnormal conditions. Perform screening on patients using X–ray technology. Administer prescribed medicaments to the gingival and applies prescribed desensitizing agents. Instruct patients on oral physical therapy and toothbrush techniques and oral hygiene. Maintain records in computer database by entering basic dental history and information and extent of services rendered for each patient. Clean, sharpen, and sterilize instruments. Daily maintenance of hand pieces and other dental equipment. Assist with seating and preparing patients for dental procedures. Practice tool control of instruments and needles Comply with all best practice standards for services to people with intellectual disabilities. Any other duties as assigned.
