Deckhand (Forklift Operator)

Job functions include:
-You will operate and maintain the main engine and associated machinery to assist craft engineers. -You will follow radio instructions to maintain safe vessel operations. -You will perform line lash-up between a ship or craft and a tug to verify lines are safely secured. -You will handle lines and cables during docking, moving, and towing operations. Requirements -Must be a US Citizen. -Must be determined suitable for federal employment. -Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. -New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. -You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift. -Shall respond to radiological emergencies and perform radiological drills. -Must complete 2nd class swimmer and complete Shore Installation Management Basic Boat Coxswain Course within 90 days of assignment to this position.
