We are seeking a talented Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. As a Database Administrator, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, testing, and implementing database systems for the Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI) and Michigan's Longitudinal Data System. Your expertise will be pivotal in providing technical support to team members, evaluating new database solutions and technologies, and assisting specialist DBAs with installation and configuration.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and implement database systems for CEPI and Michigan's Longitudinal Data System.
Provide technical support to team members and evaluate new database solutions and technologies.
Assist specialist DBAs with installation and configuration of clustered database failover, database replication, and database backup solutions.
SIGNING BONUS:
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. A portion will be paid upon new hire, and the remainder after satisfactory completion of the initial probationary period (12-month period). Note: This does not apply to current state employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of SQL Analysis services and multidimensional database design.
Experience in relational database administration, specifically with Microsoft SQL Server.
Working knowledge of operating systems, network administration, and project management.
Proficiency in writing Structured Query Language (SQL) and stored procedures.
Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate department-wide Database Administration objectives.
Skills in interpersonal relationships and communications.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Experience in creating a data warehouse.
Ability to model data, design databases, and define policies, standards, and procedures based on database concepts.
Requirements:
Education: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, or related fields.
Experience: No specific type or amount required.
Alternate Education and Experience:
Possession of an associate's degree with relevant experience, or high school diploma with substantial experience.
