The Opportunity Reporting to the Manager, Data Science, the Data Scientists within the Consumer Insights & Analytics organization help answer business-critical questions of causal measurement, prediction, and optimization. Our work is project-based and supports several departments, including marketing, ecommerce, broadcast, product, and operations. Example projects include marketing mix optimization, airtime and programming optimization, price elasticity estimation, and personalization, recommendation, and targeting models.
You will research and develop the analytical approach, engineering input data sets, building, testing and revising models, presenting results to partners, incorporating feedback, and, where applicable, coordinating with Tech teams to promote models to production systems. This high-visibility position requires a high level of comfort working with partners and team members across all levels of Qurate.
This position is hybrid-remote, and is based at our West Chester, PA office.

Qurate Retail Group's (QRG) Finance Organization is a collective of global teams that work together with many of QRG's departments and shared services. It is comprised of teams in the following disciplines: Business Planning and Analysis, Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Procurement, Internal Audit, Internal Controls, and Customer Finance.
Your Impact Construct analytic data sets for exploration, modeling, insight generation
Conduct in-depth data analysis, data and prepare visualizations summarizing main features of the data
Develop accurate predictive models for forecasting and inference
Develop test designs, hypotheses, success metrics, and test requirements, and accomplish test analysis
Work with partners to define business questions and success criteria
Present results and consult the business on next steps
Conduct change management for new methodologies
Research best practices, tools, and trends
Guide other analytics team members on areas of expertise
Work with IT on production processes and data accuracy
Develop novel techniques or maintain legacy code when needed
What You Bring 2+ years of experience accessing and manipulating data in SQL or NoSQL database environments
2+ years of experience with scientific scripting languages (e.g., Python, R, SAS) and object-oriented programming (e.g., C++, Java)
2+ years of experience with Bayesian statistics, regression analysis
(beyond linear regression), supervised learning, unsupervised learning or time-series analysis required
2+ years experience of overall analytics experience, can be inclusive of post graduate work
2+ years experience of using statistical and machine learning methodologies such as regression analysis, cluster analysis, decision trees, factor analysis/principal component analysis, time series, survival models, boosting methods.
2+ years experience in data visualization and exploration tools (i.e. Tableau)
Statistical knowledge and knowledge of test design
Experience distilling and presenting complex concepts to a business audience
2+ years experience working with web analytics/clickstream data
2+ years experience at a B2C e-commerce company
2+ years experience using knowledge of cloud-based big data technologies
