The Role
Are you passionate about tackling institutional and systemic challenges in data use and reuse within the agricultural domain? CABI is seeking an individual to support our efforts in facilitating effective data management practices through human-centered design-informed policies, processes, and tools.
Candidate Profile
We're looking for a curious and enthusiastic mid-career scientist with expertise in data governance/policy and implementation. If you have a keen interest in promoting good data management practices and enjoy working in an international setting, this role is for you!
Key Accountabilities Support the development and implementation of data sharing policies, management plans, and strategies with external stakeholders. Facilitate more effective data sharing within CABI. Assist in business development activities by identifying potential project opportunities and contributing to proposal writing. Knowledge for Life: Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required: Demonstrable experience in data science, analytics, and management. Proficiency in relational databases and large dataset manipulation. Familiarity with data models, metadata standards, and semantic models. Ability to communicate complex information to technical and non-technical audiences. Experience in data policy research and implementation. Background in biological, agricultural, or environmental datasets. Strong project management skills and an interest in change management and human-centered design. Education & Qualifications Required: University degree in a scientific, policy, or numerate subject. Higher degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
