Job Summary Teach a variety of instructional courses related to Computer Information Systems (programming and data analytics fields) at Mesa Community College. The courses may include Object-Oriented Programming Fundamentals, C# Level 1, Python Level 1, Java Level 1 and various introductory database courses (including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server and NoSQL alternatives)


Essential Functions Supervises and instructs a diverse population of students in a classroom and/or online setting Develops written syllabi/course outlines and uses a range of course materials Evaluates knowledge of subject matter taught and monitors students records, scholastic records Utilizes departmental and college support systems to maximize student learning and engagement (e.g. Dropout Detective) Prepares and grades assignments, including exams (if used) Maintains subject-matter knowledge and skills that reflect industry approaches to data analytics and software development Performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The Occupational Teaching Fields require the following from an accredited college or university:
A Master's degree in the teaching field OR A Master's degree in any field with 18 graduate credits in the teaching field OR A Master's degree in any field with a combination of 24 upper division and/or graduate credits in the teaching field (Upper-division courses are Junior and Senior level courses in obtaining a Bachelor's degree) OR A Bachelor's degree and three years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR Five years of occupational experience in the field to be taught OR A Journeyman certification in the field to be taught Desired Qualifications Two (2) years' work experience in systems analysis, database administration, app development or a related field Previous experience with teaching, training or extensive delivering technical presentations Demonstrated excellence in communication skills Previous experience with an online LMS (e.g. Canvas) Special Working Conditions Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense May require some evenings or weekends May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen May be required to lift or carry up to 25 pounds How to Apply Interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter to .
