Job Title: Lead Pharmacy Data Entry Technician Overview: Kalamazoo Long Term Care is seeking a Lead Data Entry Technician to join our team. As a crucial member of our data entry department, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely medication management for our diverse range of facilities, primarily serving PACE, AFCs, and Assisted Living Facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, proficiency in data entry software, outstanding communication skills, and the flexibility to participate in on-call responsibilities as needed. Responsibilities: - Accurately enter prescription and medication order information into the pharmacy system, adhering to facility-specific requirements and protocols.
- Maintain up-to-date patient profiles, including medication changes, allergies, and special instructions, with a focus on meeting the needs of PACE, AFCs, and Assisted Living Facilities.
- Collaborate closely with facility staff to address refill requests, special billing needs, or other medication-related issues requiring additional attention.
- Print and prepare Medication Administration Records (MAR) for facility residents according to established schedules and protocols.
- Ensure MAR documents are accurate, complete, and tailored to the specific requirements of each facility, providing clear instructions for medication administration.
- Maintain the Clozapine Calendar, coordinating with facility staff to facilitate the dispensing and monitoring of clozapine prescriptions.
- Process Quickmar requests from PACE, AFCs, and Assisted Living Facilities, prioritizing timely preparation of medication administration records to support resident care.
- Establish and maintain strong communication channels with facility administrators, nurses, and staff to facilitate smooth medication management processes.
- Proactively address inquiries, concerns, or medication-related issues raised by facility partners, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
- Monitor the work of other Data Entry Technicians for accuracy, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications: - Pharmacy Technician certification highly preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in pharmacy technology or healthcare administration preferred.
- Proven experience in data entry, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting serving long-term care facilities.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems, with a strong understanding of facility-specific requirements and workflows.
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices related to medication dispensing and documentation in long-term care settings.
- State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician License or eligibility to Pharmacy Technician Program.
- Compliance with all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.
- Completion of annual education online requirements by expected completion date.
- Abide by the code of conduct and ensure that all activities are conducted ethically in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Skills: - Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks, focusing on meeting the unique needs of PACE, AFCs, and small group homes.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with facility staff and interdisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
Working Conditions: - This is a Full Time position from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
- This position operates primarily in an office environment.
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work to meet deadlines or address urgent billing issues.
