Senior Data Analyst – Advanced Analytics Reports to: Director of Advanced Analytics Last Update: 05 April 2024
Overview :
The senior data analyst serves a primary role in advancing the research, reporting and analytic needs of field operations. The senior data analyst will assist reporting and analytic needs across other groups as directed. Working with analytical technologies and business subject matter experts explores historical and real time information in predicting trends that deepen understanding of people, process and equipment behaviors. The individual in this position should have experience in building capacity for utilizing data to make data-informed decisions that drive actionable results.
Essential Duties (Approximate % of Time Spent) List duties and group similar items that take up less than 10% of time
· Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights into key business metrics. (20%)
· Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), ensuring data accuracy and availability. (20%)
· Develop and optimize SQL queries and build complex data models to support reporting and analytic needs. (20%)
· Use SharePoint, Power Apps, or Power Automate or other company approved tools to create automated workflows for distributing Power BI reports via email and other channels. (10%)
· Stay up to date with the latest advancements in BI technology and Azure services to improve and innovate our BI capabilities continuously. (5%)
· Provide training and support to end-users on utilizing Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring high user adoption and satisfaction. (10%)
· Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions. (10%)
· Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to enhance the BI infrastructure, including integrating existing business systems and data sources. Maintaining the integrity and security of business data throughout the data lifecycle and within Archrock Data Governance requirements. (5%)

All employees shall be in compliance with the Archrock Health Safety and Environmental Policy and local, statutory and/or regulatory requirements at all times. Skills and Abilities to: - Perform all essential responsibilities.
- Proven expertise in Power BI, including proficiency in report and dashboard development, DAX, and Power Query.
- Extensive SQL/SSIS, data integration/migration/manipulation, and database/data warehouse/lake skills.
- Solid ability to construct complex queries and data models.
- Experience using SharePoint and Power Apps to automate workflows and distribute reports.
- Develop and execute strategic concepts and roadmaps for enterprise analytics solutions ranging from simple views and reports to artificial intelligence and machine learning.
- Preferred, familiarity with Microsoft Fabric compute resources; including how to use them effectively in data analytics and BI solutions.
- Quick learning and adaptability to new technologies in a rapidly evolving tech field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of creating logical solutions to extract data and meet reporting requirements.
- Strong communication and training abilities, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance practices within Azure and Power BI environments is preferred.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge: - Enterprise analytics solutions and business intelligence best practices.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL developer tools, integration tools, data warehouses, databases and data connections.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics, with a solid comprehension of cloud data warehousing concepts.
- Microsoft Office products including advanced Excel & VBA (required).
- Good working knowledge of Oracle EBS, Oracle Cloud or ERP systems.
- Strong organizational process, statistical and financial understanding.
- Exposure to advanced analytics such as AI, machine learning, linear programming, Monte Carlo simulations.
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and cloud data source management preferred.
- Competency in data analysis applications built in R, Python, etc. preferred.
- Working knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics principles, concepts, and applications
Minimum Education and Certification: - A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a STEM related field.
Minimum Experience: - Relevant experience in related analytics, engineering, or technology space.
- Experience building and data loading enterprise information by using multiple data sources such as data warehouses, data marts, excel etc.
- Experience architecting decision-support solutions.
Leadership: - No direct reports but is expected to serve as a leader to others inside the company for expert opinion and understanding of technical concepts.
- Regularly function as a technical leader and significant contributor on major, complex problems and projects.

- - Regularly required to stand, walk, and bend, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.

- Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds may be required.
Problem Solving and Innovation: - - Provide solutions to a diverse scope and range of complex problems where careful collection, structuring, and analysis of data is imperative.
- Solutions frequently require evaluation of variable factors, new approaches, planning and resourcefulness.
- Expected to regularly identify opportunities and to provide ideas, methods and innovations to enhance teamwork, efficiency and quality within the scope of role.
Impact: - Actions and decisions directly impact the strategic and financial decisions of Archrock's business leaders. Accuracy of work product is imperative to maintain the overall equipment performance, service quality and profitability of all product lines.
