Job Summary This position processes medical waivers submitted by commercial drivers; and processes acceptance of and monitors accuracy of insurance filings submitted on behalf of motor carriers and other transportation service providers.
In collaboration with the unit's Team Leader, serves as the senior expert to expertise program staff to ensure all work performed by team members is performed effectively, efficiently; and meets or accomplishes the required standards of the various credentialing programs. You will also create training materials used to help new employees grow their knowledge and understanding; and serve as reference materials to help foster consistency in the unit. This position also coaches staff in documenting processes, which helps facilitate knowledge transfer opportunities.
This position is the technical expert for MnDOT's Office of Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations' (OFCVO) Credentials unit. You will provide technical expertise, and guidance to the Credentials unit team for the purpose of establishing accuracy and consistency; establishing and achieving program goals; and developing a cohesive and efficient Credentials team. This position will also assist external customers with their online interactions with the Credentials unit.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, creating reports and written materials, database management (data entry and updating database system); Experience developing and implementing administrative and program policies, procedures, and service standards in cooperation with management. Experience providing customer service: phone, in person and online sufficient to provide general office support and resolve routine customer issues; Experience training on processes and procedures; Experience guiding and directing work activities to others; Ability to apply laws and rules regarding commercial driver medical standards sufficient to make recommendations in the processing of waivers of those standards. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of State and Federal motor carrier laws, rules regulations and the functions and inter-relationships of state and federal agencies involved in motor carrier/commercial driver regulation.
