This DMV Customer Service Representative position is located at the Milwaukee Central Customer Service Center and provides face-to-face customer support on driver licensing and vehicle registration. This includes issuing driver's licenses, ID cards, instruction permits, motor vehicle registrations, vehicle titles, and license plates. This position determines and collects appropriate fees from customers. This position also works with customers who need to obtain an ID for voting purposes. In addition to in-person work, this position does some online processing of other types of work and may field questions from the public over the phone. Salary Information
This Spanish bilingual position is in schedule-range 02-11. Starting pay is $20.46/hour, with $1.40/hr. increase after one-year of satisfactory performance. Reclass to the Advanced level is typically after 18 months of service, and receives at least $23.93/hr. Saturday hours may be required. An additional $0.80/hr will be awarded for all Saturday hours. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be determined in accordance with the current State Compensation Plan. This position is bilingual in Spanish and English . This position gets an additional $1.00/hr add on. If you are bilingual in Spanish and English, be sure to click the "Add Language Skills" button in the Qualifications> Profile Information step of the application process and indicate your Spanish speaking proficiency level. Individuals who are bilingual in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply. This position will require the individual selected to be bilingual in Spanish and English. This position may be assigned to a team which requires the ability to travel regularly on an independent basis from a headquarters office to other cities during the work week, providing motor vehicle services to the public; or may be assigned to an office requiring only occasional travel on an independent basis, to local public or technical schools for example, to provide the services described. Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following: Identifying and resolving problems for one or more customer(s) in a face-to-face customer service role. Reading and interpreting laws, regulations, policies, procedures, or other complex documents. Using computers and one or more software program(s) to complete customer transactions. Ability to read, write and speak fluently in Spanish in addition to English
