RESPONSIBILITIES : The staff position is the key contact point within LANTA for its customers - those seeking to utilize the public transportation system (LANtaBus, LANtaVan, LANtaFlex, other services) or those conducting business with LANTA. The Customer Experience Specialist is part of the customer service team which assures the most current information is provided quickly and correctly.

EXAMPLES OF WORK

The sale of LANtaVan tickets and LANtaBus passes at the Customer Service window.
Provide bus and fare information for Intercity Bus Service.
Reconciliation of consignment bag for LANtaBus, LANtaVan, Martz and Transbridge.
Check and balance of cash and credit sales.
Communicate with passengers at customer service window in a fast-paced environment.
Provide knowledgeable service information to LANtaBus and Intercity Bus users, including general information, fares and hours of operation.
Proficient in intercity bus system ticketing software.
Mail out service and marketing information as required (maps, schedules, procedures, etc.).
Ensure documents and service alerts are updated as per business need.
Document all service-related complaints, comments, and commendations in the
Help passengers navigate the LANTA website and LANtaBus application on mobile devices.
Maintain LANTA public information systems including timetable distribution.
Mailing LANtaVan and LANtaBus applications as fulfillment requests.
Provide back-up for service information lines.
Perform general clerical functions and provide support for development.
Process Reduced Fare and Free Senior Transit Application.
Assist with logging Lost & Found items.
Perform other duties that are consistent with the Rider Resources Department vision and as may be assigned by the Supervisor of Rider Resources Department.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school degree with a minimum of three years' experience in customer service.
Professional etiquette and customer service skills, able to communicate with LANTA's customers effectively and appropriately. Must enjoy working with people.
Ability to practice active listening, providing attention to in person customers, taking time to understand his/her requests or questions without interrupting and asking for clarification, when necessary.
Knowledge of database technology and other office procedures.
Ability to read and understand bus schedules and timetables.
Familiar with local street geography and the location of key

community/employment

facilities. Ability to work with maps.
Must possess basic math skills.
Responsible for accurate handling of money through transactions.
Must possess strong in-person customer service skills.
Spanish speaking is not required but will be strongly considered.
