Position Summary: The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized environment throughout the facility, including the shop floor, common areas such as offices, restrooms, entrances to the facility and the kitchen. The Custodian ensures a safe and pleasant working environment for our employees and visitors.
Essential Functions/Job Responsibilities: Shop Floor Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and organization on the shop floor, which may involve sweeping, mopping, and removing production-related debris. Must follow safety guidelines to ensure a hazard-free environment. Restroom Maintenance: Regularly clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring that they are well-stocked with necessary supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper. Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs in the restrooms promptly. Kitchen Maintenance: Clean, sanitize and organize the kitchen area, including countertops, appliances, refrigerator, and utensils. Ensure that all kitchen supplies are stocked and organized. Monitor and report any maintenance or repair needs in the kitchen area. Facility Cleaning: Perform daily cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the facility including offices and exterior entrance areas. This includes but is not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming the floors; cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, windows, and fixtures; inspect and clean vents and filters; dust/remove cobwebs in elevated areas; cleaning of machinery, tools and equipment; and emptying trash and recycling bins. Trash and Recycling Management: Properly dispose of trash and recyclable materials in designated containers. Sort and separate recyclables according to the company's recycling policies. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain cleaning supplies inventory, notifying the supervisor in a timely manner when supplies need to be replenished. Keep track of inventory usage and assist in budget planning for custodial supplies. Clean and organize storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and disposal of expired materials following OSHA guidelines. Safety and Security: Maintain awareness of safety hazards and report any potential issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow safety protocols and use protective equipment as required. Ensure that doors, windows, and other access points are secure when performing custodial duties. Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to schedule cleaning activities, particularly during non-operational hours, to minimize disruption. Collaborate with the maintenance team to address any facility-related maintenance issues or repairs. Adherence to Policies: Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to cleanliness, safety, and security. Follow established cleaning protocols and guidelines. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, including daily checklists, cleaning schedules, and inventory logs. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly. Other: Regular and predictable attendance within the Ginosko-assigned facilities. Other duties as assigned by Management. Education/Certification/Licensing/Experience Requirements: Education : High school diploma/GED preferred. Experience : At least two (2) years of similar work experience in a production/manufacturing facility preferred. Certificates & Licenses : None. Other Requirements : Strong stakeholder service skills. Exceptional dedication to dependability and punctuality. Strong work ethic. Ability to operate janitorial tools. Additional abilities required include: Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and materials used in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment including incident response for properly cleaning biohazards. Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on cleanliness and organization. Physical stamina and ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects. Excellent time management skills to complete cleaning tasks within designated time frames. Effective communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues and report any issues or concerns. Familiarity with safety protocols and the ability to identify and address potential hazards. Flexibility to work during non-operation hours or weekends, as needed.
