What does a Culinary Director at Sagora do? Supervises the culinary department, menu planning, supplies, overall food production, meal presentation, table service, budgeting, and safety in the kitchenHire, train, and supervise all Culinary associates while promoting retention and developmentProvide knowledgeable oversight for all food production, including menu-planning, purchasing, cost control, and inventoryAssure the safety of the food in the community through compliance with all applicable company, local, state, and federal sanitation and food handling procedures and regulationsCook à la carte itemsMonitor and adhere to food and beverage budgetMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areasDeep clean kitchen on a monthly basisAble to prepare food according to recipesPlate and present beautiful food to be served and enjoyedEnsure high quality in taste and appearance and ensure food is served in an appropriate style while remaining in alignment with budget and safety guidelinesCreate and maintain a high level of service and hospitality in a team-oriented settingAssure departmental compliance with preparation and maintenance of required records, reports, and paperwork regarding Culinary operationsPromote and contribute to the community's positive reputation and perception of the Culinary department, including management and associatesServe as an active, valuable member of the community's leadership team and other task groups as appropriate. Provide collegial support and guidance to other department leadersWhat do you need to be a Culinary Director? 2 years of experience as an Executive Chef in a commercial kitchenAssociate's Degree in Hospitality Management or related area preferred but not required.Current Food Safety Manager's permit or equivalent as regulated by state and local authoritiesMust be able to use math to compute recipes and costingSkills in preparing specialized dishes for specific dietsMust be organized and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAvailability to work some evenings and weekends as needed for events and holiday staffing needsMust possess or be willing to acquire a valid driver's license to drive on company time as neededExcellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, vendors, associates, and corporate staff.
