An essential function of this position is the ability to work in person and physically report for work on site.
JOB SUMMARY: This position plans and implements an instructional program and provides related educational services for students in a Culinary Arts program. This position manages student behavior, assesses and evaluates student achievement, modifies instructional activities, as required; and carries out a variety of student monitoring and control activities. This position serves as an occupational Family and Consumer Science education classroom teacher, specifically the Culinary Arts Program in a high school (grades 9-12). This position is responsible for teaching ServSafe, sanitation, nutrition, culinary skills, etc. to high school students wishing to pursue a career within the food service industry. This position may have additional work hours outside the normal workday periodically for purposes of providing additional learning experiences for the students in catering and hosting events. This position teaches classes primarily in a professional kitchen lab, necessitating a higher level of monitoring to prevent accidental injury to students. This position performs work under the general supervision of a principal and/or other designated administrator.
