Norwayne Middle CTE Career Construction Camp (Summer Accelerator) Teacher Job Description Stipend: $3,000 Overview CTE Career Construction Camp is an 8-day summer camp to be held at Norwayne Middle School that will occur July 8-11 (Friday off) and continue July 15-18 (Friday off). The camp is for middle and high school students who are enrolled in Wayne County Public Schools. Students will be immersed in a hands on construction project (greenhouse) from ground breaking to completion. Each day students will participate in hands-on activities and come out with a take-away toolbox. Staff are responsible for working Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm. Camp begins each day for students at 8:30 am and ends at 12:30 pm. Responsibilities & Requirements CTE Career Construction Camp teachers will be responsible for implementing an engaging curriculum activities and a lesson plan(s) that fosters hands-on learning in the construction field. Teachers will also lead students in career activities (Carpentry, Electrical, Masonry, etc.) each day which will help strengthen the school-to-work concepts of how their project connects to the real world-of-work. Teachers will create a supportive and inclusive learning environment during the project. CTE Teachers will prepare a lesson on construction, which demonstrates various construction concepts from its ground breaking to its completion (greenhouse).
