So, if you are passionate about providing outstanding service to new and current students and their families, please keep reading.Here's what you need to know about the role:• You'll be joining the Student Affairs ExperienceVT Communications and Marketing team; a department of creative professionals who enjoy enhancing the student experience through various marketing and communication mediums.• You'll be reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing for ExperienceVT, but will also be working cross-collaboratively with the Director of Housing Services and Facilities and Operations and their team members.• You'll be instrumental in the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications and marketing plan for Housing Services and Student Affairs Facilities and Operations units, supporting 10,250+ residents and 47+ residence halls.• You'll be providing project management expertise by collaboratively working on focused marketing and communication projects — oversight includes social media, websites, photography/videography, graphic design, display materials, and other assets as needed.• You'll be helping to hire, train, and supervise professional and student employees and will help the Assistant Director maintain project schedules; ensuring a high quality of work and timely delivery of services.• You'll be maintaining and developing joint partnerships within the Division of Student Affairs and will be serving on committees and working on teams as needed or desired.• You'll be offered a base compensation package between $45,000 -$55,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, paid leave, retirement, tuition assistance, VT discounts, and so much more!• Your schedule will be Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm.Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in graphic design, communications, or related field.• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team on multiple tasks and projects.• Strong visual storytelling skills (design, photography, videography) with experience in managing creative projects.• Web publishing and social media experience and knowledge, including current navigation and information delivery conventions and trends.• Excellent customer service and communication skills and the ability to use them in a team setting.• Commitment to promoting inclusion and diversity.Preferred Qualifications• Experience in publication activities, such as writing and editing.• Prior experience supervising and mentoring student employees.• Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), project management systems (Wrike), and social media platforms.• Advanced photography and videography skills.Pay Band4Appointment TypeRegularSalary InformationSalary $45,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experienceReview DateApril 9, 2024Additional InformationThe successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as a driving check with a safe driving record.About Virginia TechDedicated to its motto,Ut Prosim(That I May Serve), Virginia Tech pushes the boundaries of knowledge by taking a hands-on, transdisciplinary approach to preparing scholars to be leaders and problem-solvers.
