Salt Lake Community College Position Title: CPR Adjunct Instructor, Healthcare Technologies Open Internally or Externally: External If faculty, tenure track status: Reports to (title): Program Manager 3, SLTech Department: SLTC Instruction Requisition Number: A24018 Position Type: New position Job Category: Adjunct - Variable FT/PT: Part-time Initial Work Location: Multiple Locations Starting Salary: Job Open Date: 05/21/2024 Job Close Date: 05/21/2025 Open Until Filled: No Priority Review Date: Job Summary: This position will serve as a CPR instructor for groups of students and community members in various medical programs within SLTech. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Keeps accurate records on site. 3. Coordinates Student ADA accommodation requests following college policy and procedures. 4. Meets College and department deadlines and evaluates student work in a timely manner including submitting grading on time.
2. Completes all required trainings.
3. Demonstrates and supports professional commitment to division, school, and college mission and values.
4. Follows SLCC policies and procedures.
5. Effectively teach students on location at clinical partner sites.1. Becomes familiar with, and abides by, all college policies with immediate priority given to those policies that govern interactions with colleagues, staff, administrators, and departments throughout the organization
2. Maintains professional etiquette in communications with students, staff, faculty, and administrators
3. Conducts a variety of appropriate evaluations of student performance
4. Informs students of progress-to-date periodically and assigns and submits grades by published deadlines
5. Assists in maintaining a safe and mutually respectful instructional environment
6. Prepares and submits incident reports to Dean of Student Services for inappropriate student behavior as defined by the Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities Policy
7. Maintains professional and collegial behavior
8. Handles/responds to student concerns/complaints, and responds to student communications and inquiries promptly (generally within 1-2 days)
9. Maintains professional appearance as defined by the discipline and/or College procedure
10. Completes all required employee trainings
11. Knows and enforces FERPA guidelines
12. Provides ADA accommodations as requested

AHA BLS Instructor Certification, or ability to obtain AHA BLS instructor certification within 30 days of hire.
2. Current BLS certification.
3. Healthcare field certification and 6 months of work experience in healthcare field. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or other computer applications. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, culture, ethnic background, and abilities, to maintain good working relationships across the College. The ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
