Court Reporter Camp Lejeune, NC Must be a US Citizen @Orchard LLC  has a current need for an experienced Court Reporter to join us in supporting the US Marine Corps at Camp Lejeune, NC as a Court Reporter. This contract is issued for a period of performance anticipated to be 5 years and will require some travel to other local areas and some remote work. We are actively looking for a Court Reporter, fully accredited by NCRA, as a Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), or certified at the State level to perform the function.
As the Court Reporter , you will support the Easter Area Counsel Office in a conference room setting, with the need to support some work at other locations within the region including Jacksonville, Cherry Point, New River, Parris Island, Beaufort, etc. Current responsibilities include; Reporting of everything spoken during a session and incorporating it into the transcript, unless directed otherwise by the presiding officer. Maintaining the record of appearances, with names and identification of parties who testify or speak at proceedings, or who request the entering of their appearance. Providing additional information as directed by the presiding officer. Leading to the creation of a full verbatim record of the proceeding, fully transcribed. Required education, experience, and skills At least 1 year of experience in court reporting Be certified as a National Court Reports Association (NCRA) Registered Professional Reporter (RPR), or equivalent. Demonstrate to research and interpret technical materials and to work independently. Prior experience working within a military or government environment is preferred. Attention to detail and extreme accuracy in transcribing events as guided by the presiding officer. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
