Anoka County District Court has an amazing opportunity to join the Criminal Disposition Team as a Court Operations Associate in a diverse professional environment, that promotes equity for all court staff and court users. This is an entry-level position performing detail-oriented work while providing excellent customer service in the courtroom, public counters and over the phone.

Court Operations Associates work individually and in teams using independent judgment along with available resources to perform a variety of administrative assignments. This role requires dedication to providing customers with a professional court experience, an eye for detail, excellent communication, time management, and technological skills to match our high-performance environment. Robust training is provided and knowledge is gained through on-the-job experience.

Example of Duties What You Will Do
Work includes processing electronically filed and paper filed documents; assisting customers who are appearing for criminal and juvenile related cases; working directly with customers in the courtroom, public counter and over the phone. Court Operations Associates rotate through these areas as needed and must be flexible as to assignment and attention to detail.

The following are examples of major job duties expected for this position to perform.
Performs routine court operations work, which may include scanning and/or imaging documents, data entry, responding to requests for information, utilizing applicable technology (i.e., operating and information systems) and office equipment. Receives and responds to questions and requests for information from the public, attorneys, and court employees; provides requested information in accordance with applicable policies, laws, and procedures. Performs financial tasks, including but not limited to assessing fines/fees. Provides information regarding case outcomes, court procedures, forms and documents, and court dates over the phone, via email, in the courtroom, and at the public service counter. May perform the duties of an Electronic Recording Equipment Operator (EREO), including setting up and testing recording equipment, and recording and monitoring court proceedings. Performs duties in the courtroom while court is in session; check people in for court, assist public in filling out various applications and forms. Attends and participates in division/team meetings and trainings; maintains knowledge of court policies, processes, and procedures. Administrative duties as assigned. Below are the past experiences that will enable success in this role. For education requirements listed, the equivalent number of years of related experience may serve as a substitute.
High school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of relevant job experience or greater, which may include but is not limited to customer service, administrative or office work. Additional education may substitute for experience. Nice to Have: Knowledge of court procedures and policies, laws, legal terminology, and legal factors pertaining to the court. Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and cases appropriately and in compliance with all applicable court rules, policies, and statutes. Ability to read and interpret legal documents of varying types and complexity and apply knowledge of specific laws, statutes, rules, policies, and procedures related to the area of assignment Knowledge of the organization, operation, function, and jurisdiction of the court. Supplemental Information What You Will Earn: The expected hiring range for external hires for this position is $21.00 to $26.62, based on qualifications, with a full future earning potential of $41,405.04 - $69,760.08 annually. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is eligible for State of MN employee benefits.

Physical Work Environment: The Criminal Disposition Division is located on the 2nd floor in the Anoka County Courthouse at 2100 3rd Ave. Anoka, MN 55303. Work is performed primarily in an office-setting, a public counter and/or in a courtroom.

The core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm. Initial days off: Saturday, Sunday, and court designated holidays. This position is currently working primarily on-site, with a hybrid option available in the future, depending on business needs.
