County School Security Chief

OVERVIEW The Cache County Sheriff's Office seeks a Sheriff's School Security Chief to join our team! Cache County is located in the northern part of Utah and bordered by the Wasatch Mountains on the east and a spur of the Wasatch, the Wellsville Mountains, on the west. RESPONSIBILITIES The County School Security Chief has a pivotal role in overseeing and implementing security measures in accordance with Utah House Bill 84 . This legislation mandates the establishment of robust School security protocols within Cache County to ensure the safety and protection of public facilities, and personnel, specifically related to school safety. The County School Security Chief will lead efforts to develop, implement, and maintain security strategies tailored to the unique needs of the county, working closely with law enforcement agencies, schools, government officials, and community stakeholders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent, AND Minimum of five years of experience in security management, law enforcement, or emergency preparedness, with demonstrated leadership capabilities. Ability to become Utah Peace Officer Certified within 6 months of hire; OR An equivalent combination of applicable education and experience.
