Job Description SUMMARY : The Product Costing Analyst position supports our Global Supply Chain business and is responsible for partnering with the supply chain procurement team to track and maintain a listing of all supplier contracts, for ensuring that the cost we are charged by our suppliers for inventory agrees to the contracted price of the goods, for maintaining accurate costing for all inventory items within our financial systems, for providing the supply chain finance team with accurate product costs to support the pricing of goods sold to stores, and for reconciling any discrepancies in cost between the amount in the contract versus the amount being invoiced to the Company by its suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 40% - Product Costing Maintain a complete and comprehensive listing of supplier contracts including key attributes such as contract start and end dates, cost inputs, and frequency of costing updates Partner with Procurement to review and understand supplier contracts including contract modifications Lead the effort to track product cost changes including: Validate supplier cost changes against the underlying contract Perform independent calculations for goods that are costed using commodity indexes to ensure supplier commodity cost inputs are accurate Update and maintain accurate costing in Peoplesoft Financials for all inventory items Communicate cost changes to Finance partners timely 40% - Accounts Payable Match Exceptions for Supply Chain Inventory Review and resolve match exceptions timely, on a daily basis, ensuring that payment is in accordance with supplier contract Identify the root cause of the exceptions and lead the effort to eliminate them through partnership with procurement, supply chain operations, and accounts payable Prepare benchmarking and comparative analyses for exceptions by supplier Provide analysis on cause and effect of exceptions Adhere to SOX controls and establish new controls as necessary 10% - Other Assist general ledger accounting team with research on aging cogs accrual balances including determination of root cause and action needed to resolve Maintain documentation of standard operating procedures and suggest process improvements Provide other ad hoc reporting requests Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting 3+ years of finance or accounting experience preferred Demonstrates financial analysis skills with flawless attention to detail Demonstrates strong understanding of payables, inventory costing, and general ledger Ability to independently manage multiple projects Strong ability to communicate cross-functionally and to communicate financial information to operational audiences Builds effective business partnerships Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and database applications PeopleSoft Financials experience a plus Additional Information All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
