In this role, you would be responsible for supporting and overseeing the costing of manufactured products and sales of finished goods. The cost accountant is responsible for all divisions within AvtechTyee and provides recommendations to senior management to support the achievement of company goals. This role will be accountable for analyzing material, labor, or other expenses to determine production costs, cost of sales, or other cost-related performance measures.

Your Day-to-Day would like: Analyze production costs, manufacturing expenses, and overheads to determine product costs and profitability. Conduct regular cost reviews to identify variances and recommend cost-saving measures. Collaborate with production and procurement teams to optimize costs related to materials, labor, and overheads. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, variance analysis, and cost projections. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Provide financial data and analysis to support management decisions. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to production costs and expenses. Monitor budgetary performance and provide explanations for variances between actuals and budgets. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies. Maintain detailed documentation of cost-related activities for audits and reviews. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and accuracy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in cost accounting processes. Provide support for AR and AP as needed. Maintain periodic cost rolls/updates. Lead and manage periodic excess and obsolete inventory review processes. Ensure validity and accuracy of ERP through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production, and work order processing. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor. What you bring to the role: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. 1+ years of Standard Cost and Accounting experience in a Manufacturing setting. 1+ years of operational experience, especially with inventory and plant operations. Strong Excel skills, advanced financial modeling, and analytical techniques. Demonstrated ability to streamline and automate complex processes. Extensive analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions. Knowledge of US GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts. Nice to have, but not necessary: MSA, CMA and/or CPA is a plus. Epicor experience a plus. **Must be authorized to work in the U.S.**
The wage/salary target range for this role is $60k - $80k, depending on education and experience.
