Position Description:Nevada Gold Mines is looking for a Safety & Health Technician at our Cortez Operation. The Safety & Health Technician will assist Safety & Health Specialists in developing, implementing, and monitoring Safety & Health programs in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Furthermore, they will help Industrial Hygiene collect samples in accordance with established procedures / guidelines and serve as a support function for day-to-day Industrial Hygiene activities. Additionally, they will have opportunities to aid Training Departments with daily tasks such as documentation and facilitating courses.Responsibilities:Support Senior S&H professionals to develop and implement strategies to control immediate risks in the workplace and find solutions to complex S&H problems.Assist with internal S&H inspections and audits to identify conditions, behaviors, corrective action implementation/compliance, and/or training related corrective actions and needs.Work with employees and staff to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and company S&H standards and systems.Collect samples and provide support for Industrial Hygiene functions at the site including: Air monitoring, Biological Monitoring / Medical Surveillance, Radiation Safety, Audiometric Testing, Respiratory Protection, Hazard Communication, and records maintenance.Support Training Departments with Learning Management System database integrity and records management.Assist in the facilitation of classes, safety meetings, toolbox sessions, policies / standards rollouts, etc.Conform to all Nevada Gold Mines policies and procedures.The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.Qualifications:1+ years mining experience preferred.Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, and/or Training experience is preferred.Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word & Excel) preferred.Must be able to work with diverse groups and personalities.Must be able to take direction and follow instructions closely.Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.Self-confidence, motivation, and strong leadership and organizational skills. #LI-TC1Job Identification229100Posting Date2024-03-26Apply Before2024-04-16Job ScheduleFull timeJob CategorySafety & HealthLocationsElko, NV, United States
