Salt Lake Community College Position Title: Corporate Trainer, Autodesk-AutoCAD Civil 3D (Part Time) Open Internally or Externally: External If faculty, tenure track status: Not Applicable Reports to (title): Manager, IT & Computer Applications Department: Continuing Education (Workforce & Econ Dev)-2U1 Requisition Number: P24217 Position Type: Replacement Job Category: Part-Time Staff - Variable FT/PT: Part-time Initial Work Location: Miller Campus Starting Salary: $40.00 - $65.00 per hour Job Open Date: 05/08/2024 Job Close Date: Open Until Filled: Yes Priority Review Date: Job Summary: Instructor will be responsible for all aspects of course instruction, including: developing and implementing lesson plans, assignments, assessments, and projects; tracking and recording grades; updating coursework in Canvas; clearly communicating expectations and providing feedback to students on their progress; and conducting course evaluations as designed and requested by the Division. This position will primarily be based at the Miller Campus but may be required to work at other locations as needed. Essential Responsibilities and Duties: Responsible for all tasks and activities related to the delivery of the course or workshop content. Maintain records of student performance, including test administration and posting of all grades into Canvas. Responsible for the management of an effective learning environment, including communication with students through electronic methods as well as in-person classes. Follow course curriculum, per college policy, assuring successful completion of identified student learning outcomes. Keep up-to-date with current industry standards and best practices. Demonstrate and support professional commitment to program goals, as well as to the policies, mission, and values of the Division, School and College. Attend required training and departmental meetings. Provide timely feedback to students on assignments, quizzes, exams, projects; clearly communicate expectation related to coursework. Maintain open line of communication with program manager and coordinator. Adapt curriculum to meet changing industry trends and/or standards, including updating course content in Canvas. Engage students through classroom discussions and activities. Ensure students are given multiple opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills they will need to successfully complete the course, apply what they have learned and demonstrate they are developing the skills necessary to be successful. When appropriate, assist in identifying student placement or career advancement opportunities. Conduct course or workshop evaluations as designed and requested by Division. Perform other duties as needed to support program success. Essential Responsibilities and Duties Continued: Minimum Qualifications: Relevant baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and/or professional AutoCAD Civil 3D Professional Certification from Autodesk Preferred Qualifications: Graduate degree preferred. AutoCAD Civil 3D Professional Certification from Autodesk or other professional certifications, documented training, or related work experience specific to AutoCAD Civil 3D. Prior experience working with adult learners. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong interpersonal communication skills.Intermediate to advanced level of proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.Able to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.Must be adaptable, flexible, and have the ability to multi-task.Demonstrates proficiency and passion for teaching.Able to teach night classes.Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
