What You'll Do:
The Corporate Staff Accountant assists the Corporate Controller and team with the corporate accounting close process, including recording corporate activity such as interest expense, prepaid insurance, cash, fixed assets, and other activities as needed. The position will also include monthly account reconciliations and other tasks to assist in financial reporting and compliance with internal controls and help prepare SEC. Hybrid position 3 days in the office, 2 days remote.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
Perform a variety of monthly general ledger accounting functions to include:recording and reconciling debt activity tock compensation expense entriesrecording corporate insurance record all Corporate cash activity and prepare bank reconciliations recording intercompany transactions Fixed asset depreciation and reconciliation lease accounting entries and reconciliationPreparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month-end balancesPerform monthly and quarterly analytical calculations to support financial statement data.Maintain solid controls and processes when reporting financial data.Prepare management reports, including operating and financial data.Help to maintain adequate and effective internal controls. Assist in the compilation of data to support tax and SEC reporting functions.Interface with auditors, tax preparers, and internal and external service providers.Perform other duties as needed or assigned. What You Have:
Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports and legal documents.Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees.Adherence to and knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.Strong Excel and accounting system experience.Ability to analyze problems and recommend solutions.Highly detailed and organized. Your Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting or another appropriate field.1-3 years of experience in an accounting or finance function.Working knowledge and experience in Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is a plus.Experience with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required. Compensation: Century Communities (the "Company") intends to offer the selected candidate an annual base salary in the range of $65,000 - $75,000 with the potential for other financial incentives. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors, including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and the Company's 401(k) plan.
