Embark on an exciting new chapter in your legal career with a leading travel management company! We are seeking a motivated and skilled contracts attorney to join our dynamic team in a fully remote capacity.
In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for drafting, negotiating, structuring, and reviewing a wide range of commercial contracts, including sales, vendor and procurement, IT, marketing, consulting services, and more. You'll collaborate closely with the General Counsel, advising on the company's contractual rights and obligations, solving complex problems, and maintaining detailed negotiation and certification records. This position will work closely with the sales/account management, RFP response team, and the domestic corporate contracts manager.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in corporate, commercial, and data privacy law, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of the contract review team, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, and tolerances related to client agreements in the global context.
- Draft and finalize legal documents, including client and supplier contracts, confidentiality agreements, and amendments for clients, independent contractors, employees/billable workers, and suppliers.
- Independently facilitate contract escalations with the General Counsel and strategic partners.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, billable workers, and independent contractors, ensuring compliance and consistency of contractual obligations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally, providing legal advice and services on legal matters and industry-specific issues.
- Maintain and manage the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, ensuring adherence to tolerance and risk levels for numerous client accounts.
- Support the development and implementation of departmental processes and procedures, including leading special projects, reporting, distributing contract templates to sales, updating SOPs, and more.
- Continually meet contractual service levels and maintain compliance with other contractual requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong familiarity with local, state, federal, and international laws to ensure compliance and avoid legal complications.
- Experience with local, state, federal, and international data privacy laws.
- Familiarity with the travel industry and/or meetings & events space (preferred).
- Experience with international contracts (preferred).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
