Full job description CORE Food Pantry Manager
Position Overview:
The CORE Food Pantry provides food shares to households throughout Northern Bayfield County. This person will be responsible for coordinating the operations of the food pantry, including but not limited to the packing and distribution of food shares, the coordination of volunteers, and the record keeping of volunteers and recipients. You will also work cooperatively with CORE staff to provide assistance with other community programs as needed.
Major Responsibilities: 70% Operations/Programming of Food Pantry and Food Distribution-Including Budget
10% Volunteer Management
10% Administrative- (tracking and reporting)
10% Staff Assistance-(Future planning-HR, programming, meeting, etc)
Food Pantry Operations ? Oversee assigned aspects of the food pantry's daily operations.
? Ordering and receiving food shipments
? Organizing and tracking inventory and donations (food and others where appropriate)
? Packing and distributing food shares
? Ensure that the food pantry is clean, organized, and well kept.
Food Pantry Volunteer and Data Management ? Data collection and reporting as needed for various programming.
? Act as Main Point-of -Contact for Food Pantry (Programming)-Communication
? Manage the Food Pantry Schedule and Volunteer Schedule
? Coordinate and recruit volunteers to assist in the above daily tasks.
? Maintain accurate records of the food pantry's activities, volunteer hours and assist in creating monthly reports.
? Maintain the Meal Connect monthly reporting.
? Collaborate on Share the Harvest program and LFPA management with community members and
partners to provide locally produced food to food pantry recipients.
? Tracking of STH reporting
? Collaborate with regional, state and federal hunger, food justice, and advocacy efforts ie: Hunger Task Force, Wisconsin Farmer's Union, Second Harvest Food Pantry Partners, Hulings Rice Food Center at Northland College, etc.
Miscellaneous Duties ? Coordinate gardening activities and local food sourcing as they pertain to sourcing food for the food pantry
? Assist with other managerial tasks related to the food pantry.
? Administration support: answering phones, interacting with community members, sign up community members for programming.
? Create and collaborate with the staff on program messaging: social media posts, handouts, signage, etc.
? As time allows, assist with other community programs and services provided by CORE.
Education and Experience: ? High school diploma or G.E.D. and one year of experience working in a social or public service environment OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
? Preferred experience working in a community garden and/or farm and/or retail food environment.
Required Skills and Abilities: ? Ability to train and direct volunteers while providing a positive work environment.
? Ability to work both independently to complete daily tasks and cooperatively with Board and co-workers to achieve desired goals.
? Strong organization skills.
? Strong communication skills.
? Ability to work with people from a variety of backgrounds.
? Ability to perform moderate amounts of physical activity associated with continuous walking, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 40 lbs.) frequently.
? Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
? Valid Drivers License
Position offers 24-28 Hours/week.
Hourly pay from $22-$25/hour depending on experience.
