What we are looking for
Optime Care, a Specialty Pharmacy, is looking for a Controller who will manage all our daily and strategic financial activities including financial accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, billing, treasury, and financial analysis. They will manage a team but will also play a direct, individual-contributor role in the financial life of the organization. This position requires regular weekly attendance at our Earth City, MO office. What the position will be doing Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls, guidelines, and General Ledger (GL) per the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Manage the company's cash flow and control of cash. Perform the month and year-end close activities and related reporting. Manage monthly GL account reconciliation process. Manage accounts payable (AP). Provide comprehensive financial updates to senior leadership by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points. Manage customer billing and related accounts receivable (AR) activity. Prepare the annual budget and periodic forecasts. Compare actual results to budget/forecast as part of the monthly reporting process. Perform ongoing financial and profitability analysis. Serve as the key contact for external audit and tax consultants. Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity. Meet with new clients to ensure proper financial reporting is set correctly for accurate month-end reports. Perform other related duties as assigned or as necessary; remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by departmental and organizational needs. Necessary Skills, Education & Abilities Bachelor's degree, or 4-year equivalent, with a major in business, accounting, or finance is required. Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting or finance. Previous experience managing accounting and finance professionals is necessary. Professional certification, such as CPA (certified public accountant) or CA (chartered accountant) a plus. Demonstrated experience leading and managing an accounting function and a team of finance professionals. Ability to analyze financial data, and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections Possess a solid foundation of knowledge of accounting, finance, and financial control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities. Excellent analytical skills and the ability to provide solutions to complex problems. A detail-oriented approach with an ability to switch between job responsibilities quickly and seamlessly. Ability to be highly transparent, ethical, and driven. Relentless attention to detail, and the ability to be a creative self-starter and team player. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to communicate with all levels within an organization and with partners, vendors, and even clients. Ability to think and act independently, formulate, and support new ideas, and champion new initiatives within and beyond the scope of own responsibilities. Proficient in financial management systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and especially Excel. About Us
