About being our Project Engineer As our Project Engineer you will be part of Psomas' Construction Management (CM) Group, while supporting specific assignments for the Bay Area Regional CM Team. This team specializes in managing the construction of heavy civil, public works infrastructure projects - primarily upgrades and expansions to wastewater/water treatment plants, recycled water facilities, pipelines, and pump stations. As our Project Engineer, you will provide technical and administrative support while serving as the liaison with clients/owners, consultants, contractors, design professionals, operations/maintenance personnel, and regulatory agencies. Our Project Engineers work in the field on project sites, therefore candidates must reside locally and/or be able to make the daily commute.
This opening is to initially support on-going assignments in the East Bay , where our teams are managing multiple heavy civil projects over the next several years. Future assignments may vary in scope, complexity, and size. You may support projects with a combination of civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural elements.
Responsibility Highlights for our Project Engineer Daily interactions/coordination with owner, designer, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies Managing the construction documentation process including RFIs, submittals, change management, estimating, scheduling, and reporting Supporting efforts with the contractor and designer to resolve construction related issues and changes Facilitating project delivery with the resolution of project issues in a fair and firm manner Preparing daily and weekly project status reports as well as oversight of field inspection daily reports Coordinating and supervising field construction management staff and their activities with other Psomas/Owner sub-consultants as directed Support project labor compliance efforts Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Engineer Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline Minimum of 3 years of related work experience including managing the construction or being involved with the engineering design of wastewater treatment facilities, public works infrastructure, and heavy civil projects Engineer In Training (EIT) certification Knowledge of the construction process and the ability to read, understand, and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision and manage deadlines Ability to work on an active construction site, including walking over uneven terrain, climbing ladders, crawling, stooping and entering confined spaces, being outdoors in inclement weather, wearing proper safety equipment, and practicing industry safety protocols Preferred Qualifications for our Project Engineer Active California Professional Engineering (PE) license or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Experience with start-up, testing, and commissioning Highlighted Benefits for our Project Engineer Enjoy an inclusive benefit package providing medical, dental, and vision coverage for employee and qualifying family members, a 401(k) with immediate vested company match and an Employee Stock Ownership Plan that is 100% paid by Psomas!
A competitive salary! The expected range for this position is $45 - $70/hour depending on experience
