Construction Manager - Asphalt Paving
My client is a well-established, well respected Asphalt Paving and Manufacturing company with locations in South Carolina. This company focuses on all aspects of Asphalt in the residential, government and commercial market sectors. From manufacturing, maintenance, and large paving projects (DOT), they consistently provide quality work. They are looking for a Construction Manager to oversee daily operations on all projects, motivate crews and be able to elevate their staff the next level. This individual will need to be extremely competent and be able to form strong, lasting relationships with clients.
Responsibilities include:
* Interfacing and meeting with the client and Project Manager(s).
* Overseeing the entire project, sitework and labor, equipment, Foremen, safety, etc.
* Execute Construction Documents
* Walk the site and manage QAQC, on-site supervision of subcontractors
* Maintenance of project schedules
* Scheduling of required inspections
* Insuring adherence to project plans and specifications
* Ensuring all projects come in on time and within budget
Preferred Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience with heavy civil
* At least 5 years' experience with asphalt
* Must have experience being responsible for projects from start to finish
* Knowledge of and experience with construction practices directly related to hot mix asphalt pavements, pavement reclamation, asphalt milling, road repair/rehabilitation, concrete work, and drainage work.
* Certifications related to the construction practices and inspection of highway construction materials including asphalt paving and surfacing products.
* Knowledge of and experience with mix designs and sampling and testing procedures related to hot mix asphalt and surfacing products (chip seal, slurry seal, micro-surfacing, etc.)
* Previous management/oversight of staff, schedules, timecards, etc.
* Familiar with financials and project management
