The Estimator is responsible for collecting and analyzing material, labor and equipment costs and preparing estimates for large- and small-scale commercial construction projects. The Estimator is responsible for developing positive and productive relationships with all project stakeholders, coordinating pre-construction activities, and obtaining all required information to properly develop scopes of work, budgets, and project proposals. They are responsible for finding new suppliers and subcontractors who are qualified to keep the company as competitive as possible. They are involved with the sales representatives to carry out the strategy and prepare the estimate for physical construction. Requirements
Must have commercial construction knowledge Experience estimating jobs up to $10mil. 5 Years Estimating Experience Required. Key Performance Objectives:
Coordinates with sales division on design development to ensure customer needs and budget requirements are met.
Creates competitive, detailed and accurate estimates to allow the organization to win profitable work. Communicating job-specific information to internal departments to enable effective planning and successful execution of projects.
Maintains and stays up to date on multiple structural and framing systems, as well as other developments in construction, software, and methodologies in order to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Obtain (3) bidders in all major divisions. Operational Responsibilities
Interfaces with Building Information Modeling Manager in conceptualizing and evolving design concepts into 3D models and drawings during the initial design phase. Contributes to design discussions, troubleshoots issues, and participates in virtual walkthroughs of the model directly with customers when requested by the sales representative.
Works with sales to document project requirements and ensure the customer's scope of work is clearly communicated and understood.
Requests proposal for services from architects and engineers and works with accounting to obtain architects and engineers' purchase orders.
Facilitates site visits as appropriate to conduct field measuring, verify information, and resolve field issues prior to the commencing scope of work.
