Role description:

Arcadis seeks a

Contract Manager

to join the team in Los Angeles to perform a wide variety of professional engineering work in either a field or office setting.

Support project administration activities under the supervision of LACMTA's Contract Administrator, Project Manager, and Project team for a highway construction project including support of change control procedures, pay application processing, and coordination with interfacing LACMTA departments among other contract administration tasks as assigned.

Role Accountabilities :
Support LACMTA Contract Administrator with negotiations and approval of change orders, task orders, contract work orders, and contract modifications in coordination with LACMTA Vendor Contract Management department, construction contractor, and LACMTA's project team
Meets with internal and external clients to anticipate requirements
Support LACMTA Contract Administrator with Requests for Changes from the contractor, act as chairperson on the merit evaluation team, and prepare responses
Prepares various letters and notices and participates in initial and regular contractor and consultant conferences and meetings
Supports contract management activities after award and liaises with LACMTA's vendors and internal clients
Maintains all contract, change order, and contract modification records and attends progress meetings to review contract issues, set payment schedules, and make adjustments to contract administration
Attend Fact Finding meetings with the project staff, contractors and assist with scope/cost and schedule proposal analysis, and monitor contract compliance
Assists in developing claim strategies designed to minimize damage assessment and effect on schedules
Assists with the arrangement and participation in final inspection and assists with the preparation of closeout documents
Prepares monthly status reports, summaries, and other correspondence at the direction of the LACMTA Contract Administrator
Briefs management on assigned projects and gives oral presentations as applicable
Coordinate interface with Project Controls staff and Program Management Information Systems (PMIS) including Unifier.
Required Qualifications:

Approximately five (5) years of relevant experience performing complex contract administration work including preparation/review of contract changes and claims for publicly-funded heavy construction, highway, or transit industry construction projects
Experience with construction contracts and contracting procedures
Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Business, Public Administration, or a related field; Master's Degree in a related field preferred
Key Skills and Abilities :

A valid California Class C Driver's License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions
Preferred Qualifications :

Professional certification from the National Contract Management Association (NCMA), American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS), Institute for Supply Management (ISM), or equivalent.
Highway construction experience highly.
Knowledge of Caltrans Local Assistance procedures.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $94,760 - $166,750.
