PBA Duties and Responsibilities
Conference Housing Services

Assists in the year-round conference housing operation that provides additional revenue for Student Housing Services and programmatic support for the University. Assist with the overall operations of Conference Housing Program including but not limited to: contracts and records management, fiscal processes, and office operations. Responsible for the development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of conference housing policies, regulations and widely accepted methods and practices. Processes billing and payment to conference groups and vendors according to contractual terms. Resolves complex and difficult procurement, billing, and collection issues as needed. Assist in the oversite of student conferences staff by observing behavioral expectations to monitor their performance by assisting with the selection, training, performance counseling and evaluation. Researches current and future economic issues and trends, and coordinates and reports to the Lead Conference Hosing Officer to implement changes to policies and procedures to optimize work and revenue flow. Implements established metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services to identify program successes and areas in need of improvements. Assist with the review and implementation of an operating budget for the conference housing program and services offered. Assist in the implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies to increase and maintain acceptable occupancy levels. In addition to being available during regular business hours, this position must be accessible for after-hour conference housing emergencies, including evening & weekend work hours. Responsibilities require carrying a cell phone. Assist with organizing, researching, coordinating and reporting on special projects as assigned.
Administrative Services

Assist with the SHS early student check-in and late student check-outs process during each semester. Assist with the Student Housing Services emergency housing process. Assists with academic year resident room change process, including the identification of available spaces, and collaboration with SHS Operations and Residential Life. Represents, supports and communicates the overall intent and mission of the University and Student Housing Services' policies and procedures to students, families, faculty/staff, and external community members. Provides support to student residents and departmental groups in various organizational and program planning. Serves on departmental committees with planning efforts, and programs as assigned.

Evaluate and revise policies and procedures related to the Conference Housing Program and services; Ensures all internal policies and procedures comply with all federal, state, and University policies and procedures, rules and regulations. In addition to being available during regular business hours, this position must be accessible for after-hour conference housing emergencies, including evening & weekend work hours. Responsibilities require carrying a cell phone. Responsible for organizing, researching, coordinating and reporting on special projects as assigned.

Denotes Essential Functions PBA Minimum Qualifications Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business administration, education, human development, communication, or related field and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for providing assistance to groups, individuals, and students in conference housing, or related student services programs; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated. Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of conference housing, student housing, or student services, or related field as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies. Functional knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with conference housing or student housing administration. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of conference housing or student housing administration. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software. PBA Supplemental Minimum Qualifications Ability to work outside of business hours including evenings, weekends and/or holidays as needed. PBA Desirable Qualifications Experience in handling large- and small-scale crisis/emergency situations involving guest welfare and hall safety.
