We have multiple projects throughout the Norfolk, VA area, and are seeking full time Concrete Carpenter/Finisher to join our team. This position will be based out of Norfolk, VA but will travel to support RQ projects throughout the region to include VA, NC, SC, LA, FL, & GA. This position is responsible for all stages of concrete preparation and placement work including screeding and finishing surfaces of poured concrete, such as floors, walks, sidewalks, roads, or curbs using a variety of hand and power tools, as well as layout and construction of formwork to construct foundations, curbs, ramps, walls, and columns. Position will also patch voids using saws to cut control/contraction joints. The Concrete Carpenter/Finisher may also be responsible to assist in non-concrete related construction work as assigned.
This is all to be done using the appropriate equipment and implementing the required safety practices in support of RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values. All work is to be performed on the military bases and is paid the required Davis-Bacon prevailing wage. Employees will be compensated for travel time according to company policy.
Qualifications are as follows: A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position. Three or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience in concrete within the construction industry is strongly preferred; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred. Work in the design-build industry is preferred. English speaking, writing, and reading skills preferred.
