Position Summary: Provide student instruction from a Biblical-based worldview for undergraduate courses offered by the Computer Science Department, passionately engage students to develop analytical and critical thinking skills, advise students on academic matters, perform service duties as needed within the department, and continue professional development as dictated by personal interests and the needs of the department.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach assigned courses (including class preparation, grading, and other related teaching activities)Maintain and publish course syllabi and related content for each classRegularly revise course content based on current research, trends, and/or student performanceMaintain regular, posted office hours to be available to studentsDevelop personal relationships in and out of the classroom with a goal of contributing to the professional, personal, and spiritual growth of the studentMay serve as student advisorParticipate in divisional/departmental meetings and activities (including curriculum development, serving on committees, recruitment activities, intercollegiate programming etc.)Support activities related to the academic school, division, and/or departmentMaintain a thorough and current faculty portfolioEngage in professional development activities (both within the computer science field and as a professional educator)Participate in University service activitiesAttend required meetings (including chapel, faculty/staff meetings, and convocations)REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Possess knowledge of teaching field, including knowledge of multiple programming languages such as Python and C++, strong software development skills, and the knowledge and ability to integrate current best practices into the core undergraduate curriculum.Demonstrate excellent communication skills (both oral and written) in the classroom and interpersonally with studentsDemonstrate organizational abilities in teaching and classroom managementPossess and communicate a Biblical worldview and integrate biblical principles into subject matterProfessional in appearance and presentationExemplify a biblical role model for students and colleaguesMaster's degree in teaching field requiredTerminal degree preferredTeaching experience preferred#LI-Onsite
