COMPUTER Analyst 2 – Networking / Security
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
Supports and Maintains both administrative and instructional computers, server, software, and security compliance, additional role to support card access security technology, surveillance camera technologies, networking, backup / disaster recovery, process and procedures, provides end-user support to admin staff and all Residential RESNET clients. Assists user training and related documentation, supports administrative staff, faculty, and full-time team lead for a Help Desk of 21 student workers. Provides technical support to Residential Life, Division of Student Affairs, and Academic Affairs' Experience LSU office. The Computer Analyst reports to the Computer Manager for Information and Security Services. This role requires being on a 24hr rotational schedule of after-hours support with the ISS Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
50% Support and assist the Computer Manager in implementing, developing, maintaining, upgrading and supporting hardware/software, account management and auditing for 12 + physical and 14+ ESxi virtual servers, and Division of Student Affairs (SA) SANS and ESxi servers. Assist in implementing, maintaining, supporting, developing and administering best practices for both physical and virtual servers, network security, data handling, procedures and methodologies. Assist in implementing / designing / maintaining / testing data backup & disaster recovery methodologies for Reslife and SA. Audit server backup / recovery logs from Res Life IS Networking Staff. Assist in analyzing, documenting, and remedying general technical problems and issues related to ResLife and SA. Support and assist in the development, management, implementation, and support of 230+ surveillance camera technology system for administrative use in all residence halls/apartments. Maintain camera software upgrades for selected employee PC Desktops within Residential Life.
30% Support the Computer Manager with the development, management, and support of custom security systems such as on-line security card access system (1500+ Doors), off-line security card access key locks (2000+ doors). Coordinate staff access and use of these systems. Replacement and troubleshooting security systems hardware in all LSU Housing residence halls and apartment complexes. Support and monitor data exchange between departmental servers and other campus computers.
10% Support and mentor shared responsibilities of the two departmental Help Desk Call Centers, supervise 21 student technicians (Residential Computing Consultants). This includes supporting the maintaining of hard drive imaging processes, network communications lines, installation / upgrade / maintenance of technology equipment, print server integration, active directory controls and scripts, and appropriate backup systems. The two Residential Life help desks supports administrative / paraprofessional / residential college faculty and staff (550+ computers), residential buildings (17+ labs, 15 front desks, 10 smart classrooms, 2 media rooms, 40+ email workstations for the Division of SA and Academic Affairs' Experience LSU offices (150+ computers / laptops / peripherals and 31 lab computers) and physical and virtual servers. Provide the Division of Student Affairs with requested technology support during campus events and full-service Help Desk support. Provide Academic Affairs' Experience LSU office with technical and full-service help desk support for year-round university freshman /transfer /spring invitational student orientation sessions and Help Desk services.
10% Support/Assist the Computer Managers of Information and Security Services on various departmental automation projects to increase productivity, efficiency, and the breadth of services offered by the department. This will include automation of data gathering procedures, reporting, training, work order/help desk operations, and advanced Internet interfaces. Support the Computer Manager with device setup, software installs and networking with AxisTV Digital Signage for all Residential Housing within the Res Life footprint. Assist with KeyTrak box and networking troubleshooting with Computer Manager to maintain Res Life Facility access for assigned employee use. Work with vendors and assist with networking access for Residential Hall Laundry devices for Residential Life Facilities. Support the Computer Manager in monitoring monthly network server backups to include VEEAM, Backup Exec, Windows Server Backup, and shadow copies for Disaster Recovery. Assist in monthly DR backup tests. Perform other tasks as assigned by the Computer Manager or Associate Director of Information and Security Services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Computer Analyst 2
Bachelor's Degree
One year related experience (Student work or internships will be considered as half credit towards work experience) DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in the Microsoft Windows ecosystem, including Windows Server, Windows 10, Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS,SCCM, PowerShell
Experience in administering Online and off-line card access security systems
Experience in file server backup/ restore /disaster recovery and security camera systems
Experience with UNIX based systems, Network Data Center, VMware 6.5
